When people enter a house, the first thing they often notice is the flooring and the material used. The flooring is one of the most prominent features of your home, making the choice of material and color crucial. With a wide range of options available, such as tiles flooring, granite flooring and marble flooring, it can be challenging to decide on the right one.

What is Marble?

Marble is a metamorphic rock whose main component is calcium carbonate (CaCO3) that have recrystallized under the influence of heat and pressure. Marble has been associated with the history by giving a luxurious looks to the most historical monuments and wonders. Even in modern era it is used for luxurious appearance and its elegance.

Benefits of Marble Floor :

When it comes to choose marble its first advantage is a look, it obviously gives an extra luxurious look. As it comes in a different varieties of colour, it is a durable and heat resistant material.

Even if you see mostly people choose marble as the first option of their dream house’s flooring as it is less costly compared to other materials.

Marble floor remains cool in the hot climate and they’re naturally feel cool in touch foot.

If we talk about the disadvantage of marble floor, than it can not resist the abrasion and thus the scratches can be seen easily.

Marble can loose their finishing and shining after some times and it needs to be polished regularly to maintain its appearance.

They are not good acid resistance so due to these reasons, yellow stein can be visible if carefully not handled.

Cost of Marble Flooring :

If you compare marbles with other materials like granite and tiles, it is cheaper in prices. In India, you can buy marble at a price of 80-90 INR/ft² where the granite price is 125 INR/ft².

How to Install Marble Stones on Floors :

First step to install marbles is to clear the floor area completely and if there’s any bump or concrete on the surface, make sure to remove it.

The floor should be than leveled properly and ensure that the floor is moisture free, if it is not use moisture barrier to protect the marbles form the water before placing the marble stone.

Installation of Marble Flooring

The next step is to measure the area where the marble will be installed and use a tile cutting machine to cut appropriate size. Be sure to measure twice and cut once to avoid mistakes.

Now it’s time to lay it, start by spreading a layer of adhesive onto the floor surface and install marbles carefully, ensure they are levelled.

Once all the marble are placed use grouting material to pour gap between them. Clean the excess grout and apply sealent to protect the marbles from stains and spills.
